Manifestation reminders
I am redoing a room in my home. Updating the floor, painting the walls and ceiling, upgrading the outlets and adding cabinets for a walk-in closet, a desk for office use.
Turning a room into a multi-purpose room. This change reminds me of a few facts.
- Ask for what you want and be specific
- It is always overwhelming and darkest before a change
- Your original vision can change over time and that is okay
- The change is an idea that takes shape (like your desire)
This small project is a great metaphor for many aspects of life. The room was always a guest bedroom, with a nice pretty bed and bedding, chest of drawers, bed side tables. However, having so few house guests the room has morphed into more a second closet, storage and dressing room. Although there is a closet in that room and a closet in my bedroom, this room has been over-powered by stuff.
The clutter and visual mess began to stress me out even with cleaning and constant organizing. Also, now that I work from home, I am moving my desk from the dining room to this room, to decrease clutter and reduce the subtle anxiety one feels when looking at stuff. It just dawned on me that I have been asking the universe for abundance, and it (the universe) has granted me my wish through piles of clothes, shoes, books, Christmas ornaments and things. This is a great reminder to be more specific and state financial abundance and overflow as the wish. Thank you for that epiphany!
I had only a few weeks to put this idea into motion. I had pictures saved from Pinterest and shared with the handyman. He created the design based on my wish list and pictures and we arranged the timing and details of the project, the easy part. I had to face that room, the mountain of stuff (queue the dark music where you meet the villain in the story). I pulled everything out of the room and gave the bed, bedding away and a side table. Yet, I still had a ton of things to sort through. My living room/dining room looked as if it was a sorting area at the Goodwill, piles of things on couches, chairs, the floor. Also, as the remodel started there was dust everywhere. My friend reminded me that it is always a disaster and messy during a house project but then it always looks great in the end. I agree, it is a great metaphor for how it is darkest before the dawn. The sun does rise, everything will be worth the challenges, but the first steps are the hardest, most difficult and overwhelming.
This change in purpose for this room from guest room to multi-purpose room is a reminder that as we grow and live our lives, what we desire changes. Our desires and ourselves are not fixed immutable objects. We are fluid and have different ideas, wishes and beliefs. So maybe we have outdated beliefs and will respond in different ways now. We have the power to go in a different direction. I will remind myself of this point as some beliefs I hold about money and career can now shift. The traditional methods and expectations are not the only available options. The room does not need to be only a guest room; it can fit my new needs. I have outgrown the traditional concept for this room and that is okay. Where have you outgrown a traditional or inherited belief?
The other aspect of this remodel that is a great reminder about life is that all change no matter how big or small takes shape as an idea. We have ideas about what we desire. Our job is to believe and resonate with the idea of our wish. To go from want and need to describe our desire to will, know and have your wish. Pictures of beautiful walk-in closets caught my eye. I started saving pictures. I started to believe that I could have this beautiful and functional space. I looked on my iPhone album titled Closet/Office/Guest Room and noticed that my first picture was saved in 2021, so 4 years of formulating the picture after having the idea. 4 years of improving my self-talk to believe that I am worthy of and can have this room. Changing my speech from I need, or I want this room to I will have this room and knowing that one day this will be my new reality. Everyone’s timing will be different (hopefully faster than mine). So, this closet has been a great illustration of manifestation in motion from recognition of a desire, stating the wish (asking for what you want), identifying with the wish and knowing the wish is my reality, to the current state where the internal desire is now externally expressed.
I encourage you to think about where in your life you created something and think about the process you went through from when you first had the idea, to recognizing what you really wanted, to refining the wish and believing it was yours to when your wish was achieved (externally expressed). Remember the process so that for your next seemingly impossible outlandish wish that you desire to manifest, you can look at a time where you successfully created something out of nothing to encourage yourself to keep going, because you KNOW that the desire is yours already, enjoy the process!
You are magic! Your thoughts, feelings and beliefs hold the key to your transformation.
Looking forward to the before and after photos!
